Class standing/years in college:

A bit about me:

I switched to elementary education because I realized the only thing that wakes me up on time after two years is children. I figured if I have to do something forever I should be able to get there on time! Even though it's taken me a while to complete my degree, I'm fully committed and looking forward to working in my passion.

Why did you choose to attend UAF?

The sense of community pulled me in, and the activities and people made me stay.

What do you like best about UAF?

I'm never bored! I always have something that I can do or go do!

What do you like to do in your spare time? What extracurricular activities are you a part of?

I'm a past president of the UAF Circle K International - a service club - and currently am an active member. I take part in New Student Orientationto help students transition into college. I also really enjoy broomball and softball!

What is one piece of advice you would give to a prospective student interested in UAF?

Don't be affraid to ask questions throughout your college career. No question is too silly to be answered.

What "field work" have you done at UAF that will help you find work in your major?

My education classes place me in classrooms for hands-on field work and observation. I also paticipate in clubs that allow me to interact with children in an educational setting.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

Ideally, I would like to teach in a second grade classroom in Fairbanks, AK. I'm also entertaining the idea of immediately pursuing a Master's.

If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?

I would have a hard time leaving Alaska, but Italy would be nice.
