17Tanana River Ski*$15$19
 The rivers are the winter highways of the interior.  Come out with us for a mid-winter ski on the Tanana River.  We will spend several hours exploring this scenic braided river.  
18, 19Burbot Fishing*$23$30
 Want to learn how to set a burbot line on the Tanana River? Join us as we work with Alaska Fish and Game to provide this experience to students.  We will head out to set our line on Sunday and then go back out on Monday Evening to check our catch.  Transportation, gear and expertise are provided.  (students will need to have a fishing license to participate in this activity)    
25Ice Climbing**$60$78
 Come out to the Denali area for a day of ice climbing on a frozen waterfall.  The ice should be getting fat and fun for climbing by this weekend in late January.  All levels of experience are welcome on this great day out.    
1Colorado Creek Ski*$40$53
 We will ski out into the White Mountains Rec area at the Colorado Creek trailhead on Elliot Highway.  The trail rolls through the beautiful Tolovana River valley before climbing up into the  foothills of the White Mountains.  Newer skiers are welcome on this scenic day ski.   
8Moose Mountain Ski Shuttle* $10$17
 We will provide a ride out into the Goldstream Valley to Moose Mountain Ski area.  Meet in the morning at OA and we will get you out for a fun day on the slopes and then get you back to campus in the late afternoon.  (Lift ticket and rentals are not included)  
15Ace Lake Ski**$13$17
 We will explore some of the great local trails in the Goldstream Valley.  This is a terrific maze of trails that cross several beautiful lakes and make you feel like you are far out of town.   
15Banff Mountain Film Festival$10$12
 This annual event helps Fairbanksians survive the winter blues. Come and enjoy a night of action packed films from around the world. Tickets are on sale at the beginning of the semester. Event begins at 6PM in the Davis Concert Hall.  Prices listed are for tickets bought in advance for students and general admission.  
20Ice Jam**FREE$10
 Celebrate Winter Carnival with us by participating in a speed based ice climbing competition. Everyone is welcome to come out and give the competition a try regardless of experience.  All the equipment and expertise is provided for those who are newer to ice climbing or don't have their own gear.       
21Skate Ski Clinic*$10$17
 Haven't tried skate skiing yet?  Want someone to show you on the beautiful campus ski trails?  Come out for an afternoon of skate skiing and fun right here on your own backyard ski trails.  Skis are included in the price of this trip.     
2/28-3/1Cabin Ski Overnight**$135$175
 Ski out to one of the beautiful public use cabins in the White Mountains or Chena Rec Area.  We will ski out about seven miles on great interior trails to  a rustic cabin and enjoy a great night relaxing in style.  
8Angel Rocks Snowshoe and Soak*$60$78
 Embrace the returning sun by getting out on a snowshoe hike to the scenic Angel Rock trail.  This trail takes you up to some great views and beautiful rock formations before heading back around to the Chena River valley.  After the hike we will head to the hot springs.  The cost of the hot springs is included in the price.  
28Ice Fishing*$13$18
 Outdoor Adventures is working with the Alaska State Fish and Game to provide this Ice Fishing experience.  We will head down to Chena Lakes and spend the day out on the ice trying to catch some big fish.  Transportation, fishing gear and expertise are provided.  Students must purchase a fishing license to participate  
29Ice Climbing**$60$78
 The sun is back and the ice is great.  Come out and try ice climbing.  We will climb a frozen waterfall down in the Denali Park area on this great day out.  All levels of experience are welcome.  
4-5Arctic Circle Exploration*$140$181
 Head north with OA!  We will drive up to the Arctic Circle on the Dalton Highway.  We will camp out there and enjoy the beauty of early spring in the Arctic before returning to UAF the next day.  We will explore the Finger Mountain area on snowshoes as part of this weekend adventure.  
11-12Hutlinana Hot springs**$125$167
 End the winter season with a soak in a wilderness hot springs.  We hope to ski the seven miles into the springs and enjoy the warm springtime sunshine on this classic interior trip.  
18-19Delta Range Glacier Overnight**$125$167
 As the snow melts away here in town we will head down to the Alaska Range to extend our spring season on snow.  We will head up onto a glacier and camp out in the beauty of the mountains in springtime.   
25SpringFest Farthest North Boulder competition*FREEFREE
 Join us at the SRC.  All ability levels are welcome at this bouldering competition.  Pizza will be provided.  This event is sure to be fun for everyone.   
26Delta Clearwater Spring Migration Paddle**$50$63
 Be one of the first out on the water.  We will head down to the Delta Clearwater river and have an early season paddle on this great stretch of river.  The birds are making their way back and this river is a great place to enjoy their return.    
4Rock Climbing**$55$72
 The sun is warm and the rock is dry.  Come out on this early season venture to the local crag.  Haven't tried rock climbing?  No problem.  This is a trip for all levels of experience.  
9-10Reindeer Hills Float**$118$154
 This scenic float winds through the Alaska Range near Denali Park.  We will put in on the Denali Highway and float back to the Parks Highway at Windy Bridge.  There are nice gravel bars to camp on, and great opportunities for side hikes into the hills.

 Join us for an exciting evening of Adventure Film. This event is being brought to us by our friends at the National Outdoor Leadership School and is free of charge!   
6Upper Chena Fishing**$27$32
 Join us as we team up with Alaska Fish and Game to fish the scenic Upper Chena.  All fishing gear will be provided. Participants will need to purchase their own fishing licenses.   
7Rock Climbing**$54$65
 Get in one last day at the rocks outside of Fairbanks.  Never climbed?  No problem this trip is for climbers of all levels to get out and enjoy moving over the limestone at Grapefruit Rocks.  
12Evening Angel Rocks*$29$35
 Get out for a great evening on this classic Fairbanks hike. Enjoy the great fall views atop the granite covered ridge top before hikeing back down for the night.  
13Birch Hill Disc Golf*$9$11
 Get one last frolf game in before the winter season. Join us in a friendly disc golf game on the beautiful and well maintained Birch Hill trails just outside of town.  
20-21Far Mountain Backpack***$147$176
 Get out in the Chena Rec area to hike to the Far Mountain peak. Climb up to breath taking views of the the surrounding domes on this iconic backpacking trail.   
28Gulkana Glacier**$48$57
 The autumn colors are out and termination dust should decorate the high peaks around the Gulkana Glacier.  We will hike up and check out this majestic glacier in the Alaska Range.   
4Delta Clearwater Fishing**$64$77
 Head out to Delta Junction for some late season river fun. Float down the crystal clear water and fish for the late season salmon run while you're at it. All fishing gear will be provided.  Participants will need to purchase fishing licenses.    
11-12Granite Tors Overnight**$144$173
 Cranberries will be sweet and the tundra bright with fall colors on this great interior hike.  This fifteen mile loop goes above tree line and weaves through granite towers that rise more than fifty feet into the brisk fall air.    
19Eagle Summit*$35$42
 Head up north on the Steese Highway to the Eagle Summit trail head. Enjoy a short easy hike up to its peak and then branch out to explore the vibrant frosty arctic tundra and catch some great views of wildlife and the scenic surroundings.  
25Jack River Snowshoe**$70$84
 We will head down to the Denali Hwy to snowshoe out into the beautiful mountains of the Alaska Range.  The trail into the Jack River rolls through the foothills and brings you into an awesome mountain valley.

1Denali Park Snowshoe**$70$84
 Hit the early season snow up the Triple Lakes Trail. Snowshoe up to gain commanding views of the semi frozen lakes and of mountains of Denali National Park.  
8White Mountains Ski*$32$39
 The White Mountains Rec Area is a great place for an early season ski.  We will follow the well used trails on the ridge tops on the Elliot Highway for a day of awesome views and a wilderness feeling.  
15-16Wilderness First Aid*$150$185
 This sixteen hour course gives you the ASHA Wilderness First Aid Certification.  It is a great base of knowledge and skills for all people who get out in the woods here in Alaska.  The course takes you beyond the basic First Aid course and puts the information into a practical backcountry context.  
22-23Cabin Ski Overnight**$130$156
 The White Mountains have an amazing collection of wilderness cabins to visit.  Get out with us on an overnight ski to one of these scenic cabins in which you can get warm and dry even if the weather has gotten cold and snowy outside.  
27-30Alyeska Ski Trip*$366$439
 Take advantage of the long weekend to sneak in a quick ski trip to Alyeska.  Alyeska Resort is a world class lift service ski area just south of Anchorage.  We will provide the transportation and the three nights of housing for this awesome ski weekend. (Lift tickets and rentals not included)    
5Goldstream Valley Exploration**$20$31
 Come out for a fun filled evening ski as we glide our way through the Goldstream winter wonderland to Ivory Jacks for a warm meal and a beverage. Don’t know how to ski? No sweat, learn along the way while admiring  great views of the arctic night sky.  
6Chena Hotsprings Snowshoe*$55$66
 Enjoy a snowy winter hike through the Chena Rec area before heading out to Chena Hotsprings Resort. Soak away your stress before finals in cozy hotsprings while keeping an eye out for aurora. Price includes a hotsprings pass.   
7Ice Climbing**$55$66
 Ever wanted to learn how to ice climb? This day trip is a great chance to get out and try this exciting activity.  Come climb a frozen waterfall surrounded the amazing mountains of the Alaska Range

        ** = Some experience may be necessary, moderate physical exertion.

      *** = Experience required, strenuous physical exertion.

Active in the Alumni Association? If you have a current "Active Member" card, you can attend trips at the student rates.

Prices include: transportation, trip leaders, and use of Wood Center equipment. Prices for overnight trips include food. Contact us for additional information.

Refund Policy:

Payment in full is required to sign up for a trip.   A 100% refund is available if you notify the Outdoor Adventures Office of the cancellation more than one week (7 days) before the first day of the trip.   Cancellation less than one week before trip entitles the participant to a 50% refund. No refund is provided if the participant does not show up at the start of a trip.
