16-24Wilderness First Responder*3 Credits
 This advanced wilderness medicine certification course is a must for those who work or play in remote locations. 
17-18Triple Lakes Overnight Backpack**$117$140
 We will head down to Denali National Park to hike the beautiful Triple Lakes Trail.  This eight mile trail travels from McKinley Village to the Riley Creek campgroud.  This is a great way to get out and explore the park.  
25Rock Climbing**$56$68
 Get out and enjoy a day of rock climbing at our local crag, Grapefruit Rocks.  Never gone rock climbing? No problem we will provide the gear and expertise to enjoy this exciting outdoor activity. 
31Table Top Mountain Hike*$44$52
 During this hike we will climb up above tree line for fantastic views of the White Mountains Recreation Area.  This is a great introduction to hiking in Alaska and a great way to get out into the wilderness of the White Mountains.

1-7Introduction to Expedition Kayaking**1 Credit
 During this class we will spend a week floating Birch Creek in the heart of the White Mountains.  This 130 mile stretch of river will allow plenty of time to learn many different aspects of river kayaking including; paddle strokes, campsite selection, boat repair, water reading, rapid scouting, bear safety, leave no trace ethics and other techniques that will enhance your future kayaking trips.  Field Fee $395
8Denali Day Hike*$51$61
 Enjoy the fantastic scenery of the Denali area.  We will head up the Carlo Creek trail and through the mountains just to the east of Denali National Park.    
13-22Intro to Arctic Backpacking***1 Credit
 This is a week long backpacking class into the remote Gates of the Arctic National Park.  We will drive north of the Arctic Circle and learn about exploring and hiking in this isolated environment.  We will cover trip logistics and planning before the trip.  While out we will discuss navigation, route finding and river crossing and other aspects of hiking in the Arctic.Field Fee $450
14Nenana Raft*$49$59
 Enjoy a day-long whitewater raft trip on the Nenana River in Denali Park with Outdoor Adventures. Raft the Class 3 waters from Grassy Knoll to Glitter Gulch.  
21Solstice Eagle Summit Hike*$37$44
 The sun never sets on the Solstice at Eagle Summit.  Join us for an evening hike to watch the sun make a low arc towards the horizon, but never drop below on this midsummer's night   
June 24-July 2White Water Kayaking Class**1 Credit
 This course is an introduction to whitewater kayaking.  Topics will include equipment selection, safety considerations and hazard assessment, introduction to group and self-rescue skills, basic paddling strokes and skills, river running, eddy turns, scouting, river running, ferrying, and trip planning considerations.  We will use a combination of pool time, flat water and white water to teach the various skills in this course.Field Fee $255

3-6South Central Extravaganza**$374$449
 Join us as we take a tour of South Central Alaska over the Fourth of July Holiday.  We will start by heading down to Hatcher’s Pass where will try to get a nice hike in after the long drive down.  We will then camp out and enjoy the beauty of the Talkeetna  Mountains.  From there we will head down to the Seward area to check out the Exit Glacier Hike and camp out by Resurrection Bay.  From there we will head to Hope where we will do another fantastic South Central day hike right out of the campground.   Finally it is back to Fairbanks after a nice long weekend of adventure.  
11-15Expedition Climbing Course1 Credit
 This class will travel to the Golden Canyon in Yukon Territories for a three day intensive rock climbing experience.  This area provides awesome terrain for working on crack climbing, slab climbing and technical face climbing.  This is a class for almost all levels, but some prior belaying and gym climbing expereince is necessaryField Fee $300
18-20Pinnell Mountain Trail***$146$175
 The Pinnell Mountain Trail follows a beautiful stark ridgeline in the heart of the White Mountains.  Almost all of the thirty mile trail is above tree line and this helps create awesome panoramic vistas all along this trail.  We will take three days to complete this classic Fairbanks area hike.    
26Angel Rocks to Chena Hotsprings Hike**$34$41
 This Chena Rec Area hike climbs up onto the ridge line above Angel Rocks.  From here the hike goes along in the high country before dropping down into Chena Hot Springs.  We will take a soak after the hike to celebrate the completion of the hike. (Pool Pass not included)

2Upper Chena Kayak**$33$39
 Join us for a float on the scenic Upper Chena.  We will use inflatable kayaks to naviagate this fun section of river off of Chena hotsprings road.    
3Berry Picking Day Hike*$26$31
 Get out into the late summer tundra and pick the bounty of blueberries found on our local trails to the north of town.     
9-10Chena Lakes Canoe Overnight*$69$83
 Want to get out of town? Come out with us to Chena Lakes for a fun overnight canoe camping weekend.  We will spend our day paddling, swimming and relaxing around the camp fire out at the Chena Lakes Recreation Area.

Take advantage of the long weekend to sneak in a quick ski trip to Alyeska.  Alyeska Resort is a world class lift service ski area just south of Anchorage.  We will provide the transportation and the three nights of housing for this awesome ski weekend. (Lift tickets and rentals not included)

2Ice Climbing**$59$76
 Come out to the Denali area for a day of ice climbing on a frozen waterfall.  The ice should be getting fat and ready for climbing by this weekend in February.  All levels of experience are welcome on this fun day out.    
8-9Cabin Ski Overnight***$118$153
 The Chena Rec Area is home to several rustic public use cabins.  We will ski the seven miles out to the Colorado Creek Cabin to enjoy a day out in the late winter landscape.  Hopefully the aurora will light up our evening as we relax in the old trapper cabin out in the wilderness.   
13, 14Burbot Fishing*$23$39
 Want to learn how to set a burbot line on the Tanana River? Join us as we work with Alaska Fish and Game to provide this experience to students.  We will head out to set our line on Thursday evening and then go back out on Friday night to check our catch.  Transportation, gear and expertise are provided.  (students will need to have a fishing license to participate in this activity)    
16Jack River Ski**$41$53
 We will head down to the Denali Hwy to ski out into the big mountains of the Alaska Range.  The trail into the Jack River rolls through the foothills and brings you into an awesome mountain valley.  A beautiful blue frozen waterfall awaits us if we make it a bit further out the valley.   
16Banff Mountain Film Festival$10$12
 This annual event helps Fairbanksians survive the winter blues. Come and enjoy a night of action packed films from around the world. Tickets are on sale at the beginning of the semester. Event begins at 6PM in the Davis Concert Hall.  Prices listed are for tickets bought in advance for students and general admission.  
21Ice Jam**  
 Celebrate Winter Carnival with us by participating in a speed based ice climbing competition. Everyone is welcome to come out and give the competition a try regardless of experience.  All the equipment and expertise is provided for those who are newer to ice climbing or don't have their own gear.

 Haven't tried skiing yet?  Want someone to show you around the beautiful campus ski trails?  Come out for an afternoon of skiing and fun right here on your own backyard ski trails.  Skis are included in the price of this trip.

 The sun is back and the ice is great.  Come out and try ice climbing.  We will climb a frozen waterfall down in the Denali Park area on this great day out.  All levels of experience are welcome.  
15-22Grand Canyon Backpacking**$800 
 Join Outdoor Adventures as we explore this magnificent wonder of the natural world. During this weeklong trip we will be spending 4 days and 3 nights hiking into and out of the Grand Canyon. The trip cost includes all food during the 4 days in the canyon, all fees associated with backpacking in the canyon, all necessary backpacking equipment and transportation to and from the Las Vegas Airport. (Participants will be required to purchase their own airfare to and from Las Vegas.)

 Outdoor Adventures is working with the Alaska State Fish and Game to provide this Ice Fishing experience.  We will head down to Quartz or Birch lake and spend the day out on the ice trying to catch some big fish.  Transportation, fishing gear and expertise are provided.  Students must purchase a fishing license to participate

 The Conditions are perfect for playing outdside. Join Outdoor Adventures for the evening as we explore some of the local trails by snowshoe.

6Wickersham Dome*$32$42
 Spring is in full swing and the sun is high in the sky this time of year.  The beauty of springtime in the interior is evident throughout this snowshoe hike to the top of Wickersham Dome.  We will spend the day out getting 360 degree panoramic views of the White Mountains area.    
12-13Hunters Education*$11$14
 Outdoor Adventures is working with the Alaska State Fish and Game to provide this hunter's education session for UAF students.  We will host the classroom portion here at the Outdoor Adventures House and then provide the transportation to the hands-on session at the shooting range on the 13th.    
19Hot Springs Hike and Soak*$35$45
 This is one of the classic hikes in the Interior.  The three mile loop trail climbs up to a group of large exposed granite outcroppings which are fun to explore before returning back down into the Chena river valley. After the hike we will head to the Hotsprings for a soak. (Pool pass not included in trip price)     
26SpringFest Boulder Competion*FREE 
 Join us at the SRC.  All ability levels are welcome at this bouldering competition.  Pizza will be provided.  This event is sure to be fun for everyone.   
27Delta Clearwater**$55$71
 Be one of the first out on the water.  We will head down to the Delta Clearwater river and have an early season paddle on this great stretch of river.  The birds are making their way back and this river is a great place to enjoy their return.

4Rock Climbing**$48$62
 The sun is warm and the rock is dry.  Come out on this early season venture to the local crag.  Haven't tried rock climbing?  No problem.  This is a trip for all levels of experience.  
12-13Finals Float**$104$136
 This scenic float winds through the Alaska Range near Denali Park.  We will put in on the Denali Highway and float back to the Parks Highway at Windy Bridge.  There are nice gravel bars to camp on, and great opportunities for side hikes into the hills.

          ** = Some experience may be necessary, moderate physical exertion.

        *** = Experience required, strenuous physical exertion.

Refund Policy:

Payment in full is required to sign up for a trip.   A 100% refund is available if you notify the Outdoor Adventures Office of the cancellation more than one week (7 days) before the first day of the trip.   Cancellation less than one week before trip entitles the participant to a 50% refund. No refund is provided if the participant does not show up at the start of a trip.
