Special notice to residents of Kentucky and New York

Residents in these states who seek to enroll in University of Alaska Fairbanks online programs and/or complete an internship in their home state related to UAF enrollment need to be aware of special requirements. If you are residing in one of these states and you anticipate enrolling in an academic program, entailing either online courses or an internship, please contact Admissions at uaf-admissions@alaska.edu.

Tuition and fees

Students enrolled in eLearning-supported courses will be charged resident tuition. Fees will largely depend on the course(s). See what to expect on the UAF eLearning tuition and fees page.

Application instructions

Fully online students:

Undergraduate and graduate students who intend to complete their program entirely online.

  1. Review your admission requirements.
  2. Go to the UAF Application home page.
  3. Select New User and complete the section with an email unique to you.
  4. Select My Profile (at top of page) and complete this section.
  5. Select My Application (at top of page) and complete this section.
    • When asked "Where do you intend to take classes?" choose UAF - eLearning and Distance Education.
  6. Complete the application to the point of agreement and pay the application fee (a credit card is required).
  7. Submit all of the required documentation to the Office of Admissions.
    • Applicants will be able to upload documents throughout the application process.

Partly online students:

Undergraduate and graduate students who plan to take classes online and on campus. Some students will start online and finish in Fairbanks; others will take online courses when they need the flexibility.

  1. Review your admission requirements.
  2. Go to the UAF Application home page.
  3. Select New User and complete the section with an email unique to you.
  4. Select My Profile (at top of page) and complete this section.
    • In the last section, Interests, select Online Classes. This will connect you with eLearning support services.
  5. Select My Application (at top of page) and complete this section.
  6. Complete the application to the point of agreement and pay the application fee (a credit card is required).
  7. Submit all of the required documentation to the Office of Admissions.
    • Applicants will be able to upload documents throughout the application process.
