The Graduate School looks forward to working with you. We provide information and assistance to all graduate students, including orientation, teaching assistantship training and general administrative support.
Departments have limited teaching assistantships and research assistantships for full-time graduate students. For more information contact your department. Graduate assistants (TAs and RAs) can be paid for the equivalent of a maximum of 20 hours per week while school is in session. Students with assistantships must be registered for at least 9 credits during the fall and spring semesters. (Audited classes do not count toward registration requirements.)
Claim your UA username and password
Claim your UA username and password: You will need this to access multiple services available to UAF students as well as UAOnline, which serves as your student portal for registration, financial aid, housing and other services. If you need assistance logging in, follow the instructions for claiming or resetting your information. Get your UAF email address: After you register for classes, make sure to set up your UAF email so you get important information from UAF. This email can also be forwarded to your preferred email address.

New Student Orientation: Orientation is recommended for new graduate students.
11. Paying for school
Paying for school: Financial aid is applied to your student account about two weeks prior to the first day of class. Check your UAOnline account for the arrival of your financial aid, to accept any student loans and pay your balance. The Office of the Bursar also has payment plan options and instructions on how to set up your direct deposit for any refunds.
