Class standing/years in college:

A bit about me:

Born and raised in CA and very proud of it. My experiences at UAF have made AK my second favorite state. I really enjoy photography and AK has provided many beautiful scenes for me to pursue that hobby.

Why did you choose to attend UAF?

I chose UAF because it was an affordable and unique school. It allowed me to work full time as a firefighter/EMT while driving fire engines at the age of 18! While going to school!

What do you like best about UAF?

The student body is eclectic and unique from various backgrounds, but everyone here has one thing in common: resiliency.

What do you like to do in your spare time? What extracurricular activities are you a part of?

I attend paramedic school 40 hours a week, work 72 hours at University Fire Department and volunteer at a local fire dept in my free time.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a prospective student interested in UAF?

If you're not from Alaska, bring your state pride because state rivalries are fun and provide endless discussions to get through the winter.

What "field work" have you done at UAF that will help you find work in your major?

I've had the opportunity to work full time as a firefighter/EMT which allows me to drive apparatus, run the ambulance, and operate as an incident commander, something that takes five years minimum in other departments.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I aspire to be a firefighter/paramedic in Los Angeles.

If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?

Brisbane, Australia.
