The Energy Technology Facility is operated by the Alaska Center for Energy and Power. Facilities include a diesel engine test bed, a wind turbine simulator, advanced energy storage technology and hydrokinetic devices. The groundbreaking for construction of the lab modules took place May 12, 2011, and the facility officially opened in February 2012.
