Multicultural Affairs

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) seeks to create an environment of cultural sensitivity and appreciation of minorities at UAF. The office coordinates cross-cultural programs to promote diversity. It offers advice and counsel, tutoring and peer mentoring, and a network of academic and personal support for students. Three student organizations—the Black Awareness Student Union, the Latino Culture Club and the National Society of Black Engineers—are housed within the office. OMA is a "home away from home.” All students are welcome to participate in its activities and use its resources. OMA is located in room 110 of the Eielson Building and can be reached at (907) 474-7300, e-mail fyoma@uaf.edu, or fax (907) 474-5381.
