The Cooperative Extension Service is an outreach educational delivery system supported by a partnership between the United States Department of Agriculture and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The UAF Cooperative Extension Service's mission is to interpret and extend relevant research-based knowledge in an understandable and usable form. We encourage the application of this knowledge to solve the problems and meet the challenges that Alaskans face. We also work to bring the concerns of the community back to the university.

We are located in diverse Alaska communities. Each office is unique to the needs and capacity of the community where it is located. Whether we are supporting farmers in Delta Junction, growing gardens in the Arctic or traveling via boat to teach food preservation in Southeast Alaska, UAF's Cooperative Extension works hard to connect Alaskans with the resources they need to live healthy and sustainable lives.
