Ms. Jan Sanders Stitt

Creative Director of Marketing and Communications, Emeritus

Ms. Jan Sanders Stitt served the University of Alaska Fairbanks with distinction from 1973 to 1976 and from 1981 to 2013.

She has been a loyal and stalwart champion for Nanook pride, and whose love for the University and all it represents is evident in the work she does and the work she inspires others to do; and has been a tireless advocate for holding the reputation and public image of the University in very high regard.

Her guidance and vision have greatly enhanced institutional communication activities, and any project that has crossed her desk and been viewed by her eyes emerged the better because of it; and whose leadership role in the research, design and implementation of the University’s new branding campaign is poised to have a significantly positive impact on UAF as it approaches its Centennial.

She has consistently maintained a pleasant and positive demeanor, someone known as a kind and thoughtful soul who leads and motivates others by example, as a strong proponent of teamwork and collaboration, and as one who is always willing to help others for the betterment of the University.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks expresses its deep appreciation to Ms. Jan Sanders Stitt for her extensive contributions to the State of Alaska and to the University.
