Ann has been with the University since 1997, assuming roles in state relations, university and community relations, and advocacy. Most recently she served as director for the office of community advocacy for UAF.
Ringstad has more than 30 years of experience in government relations, advocacy for education, community affairs and university administration. Her background also includes 10 years of experience in business and corporate management in the private sector.
She has also served as chief of staff to various Alaska State legislators from 1983-1997, focusing on the state budget and state affairs issues.
Ringstad is a lifelong Alaskan. She earned an associate of arts degree from UAF in 2005 and a B.A. in business and history at UAF in 2006. She earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington in 2008. Ann serves on the Mt. McKinley Bank Board of Trustees, and is the Program Director for the Alaska Business Week high school leadership program. She also serves on the board of the Foundation for Private Enterprise Education.
