Barbara has worked at the University of Alaska Fairbanks since 2001. In her current role, Barbara provides stewardship for philanthropic support. She also manages projects including the Chancellor’s Report on Philanthropy and the annual all-donor thank you mailing. She was previously employed at the International Arctic Research Center and the UA Museum of the North where she managed the membership program.
Barbara holds a B.A. in English Literature and is a recipient of the Minnie E. Wells Award in Literary Criticism. She studied ceramics at UAF and donates to UAF art scholarships through the Fairbanks Potter’s Guild. She also participates in the annual Fairbanks Food Bank “Empty Bowls” fundraiser.
Barbara resides in Fairbanks with her husband, a retired teacher. She has two daughters and two sons, who are both UAF alumni — Cliff in Electrical Engineering and Everett in Physics. Barbara enjoys ceramics, gardening and collecting sand from around the world.
