Naturally Inspiring


The Phonathon is a student calling program that connects current students to UAF Alumni and Friends. The Phonathon program raises support for the University and builds life-long relationships.



Class of 2016 — Petroleum Engineering

This is Lenin's first semester at UAF. He is from Los Angeles and is interested in researching alternative fuel sources. 

Fun Fact: Lenin met Senator Mark Begich in the Wood Center this semester



Class of 2016 — Psychology

This is Hannah's second year as a phonathon caller. She likes getting in touch with alumni and learning more about UAF. 

Fun fact: Hannah has a twin sister and makes beautiful handmade cards.



Class of 2015 — Psychology & French

Lakeidra has worked for the student acitivites office, is the former editor of the Sun Star and is currently the Volunteer Program Assistant & Alternative Spring Break Coordinator for the UAF LIVE program. She wants to participate in phonathon to try something new and to connect with alumni. 

Fun Fact:  Lakeidra likes to listen to Gaelic folk songs. 



Class of 2015 — English

This is Tiana's second year as a phonathon caller. She enjoys advocating for the university, talking with alumni and hearing their stories. 

Fun Fact:  Tiana is from Barrow and is an active participant in Humans vs. Zombies (A large scale week-long game of tag using Nerf equipment in a zombie apocalypse setting). She also enjoys playing Broomball against her phonathon supervisor.



Class of 2014 — Environmental Science

TaylorJae is on exchange from Massachusetts for the semester, but loves UAF so much is considering extending her stay! She is looking forward to connecting with alumni.

Fun Fact: TaylorJae loves to rock climb and watch movies. 



Class of 2015 — Communication

Leonard is a very active student, having founded the UAF parkour club and  served as an officer for many other student organizations. He is hoping to improve his communication skills during phonathon. 

Fun Fact:  Leonard likes video games, parkour and rock climbing. 

Jacob Pittman


Class of 2018 — Political Science

Jacob is from Alabama and is looking forward to spending his first winter in Fairbanks.  He is hoping to improve his conversational skills during phonathon. 

Fun Fact:  Jacob enjoys splitting fire wood and riding his bicycle. 



Class of 2018 —Biological Sciences

Aaliyah is freshman from Arizona. This is her first winter in Fairbanks and she is a little nervous! Aaliya is excited to talk with alumni and friends of UAF. 

Fun Fact:  Aaliyah likes to binge on Netflix.
