Kim Wolf

Acting Coordinator

I grew up on California’s central coast area. Our family enjoyed a lot of camping and beach time around Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Big Sur. I am one of 8 children in two blended families, me being the second oldest. I moved to Galena in 2002 and found village life in Alaska exactly what I’d been looking for! I have been blessed with many friendships here. I have worked in a variety of fields, including computer programmer, senior buyer/contract negotiator, finance officer, grant manager, teacher’s aide, boys & girls club manager, legal secretary…whew! In addition to my job as Facilitator for the Yukon-Koyukuk Center, I drive a school bus for Galena K-12, and operate a bed and breakfast. (No moss growing under these feet!) I have one son, 26, who graduated from Galena Interior Learning Academy (GILA) and now lives in Wasilla.

I enjoy working on craft projects, walking my two golden retrievers, gardening, hosting youth activities, helping in the community and finding new ways to grow my mind J I enjoy watching western movies and, since receiving a Kindle Fire for Christmas last year, have become an avid reader. I am also a recovering eBay addict. Ha!

Working as the Facilitator at the Yukon-Koyukuk Center in Galena, I act as a community liaison to promote distance learning and assist existing and prospective students to achieve their educational goals. I also work with the local high school district to register and track students taking I-AC Tech. Prep. courses.
