Leafy McBride

Title III Program Manager/Development Coordinator

Leafy McBride, Title III Program Manager/Development Coordinator, has been with IAC since 2009.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering and Master of Science in Natural Resource Management.  

Ms. McBride oversees management and reporting for IAC’s Title III grants and other projects.  She aids other faculty and staff with grant applications and reports.  She is a member of IAC’s Management Team and aids with campus-wide planning and development strategies. Ms. McBride brings a variety of experience in higher education, public organization and non-profit management to the Interior Alaska Campus.  She has had the good fortune to work with Native people throughout the state of Alaska at the University of Alaska Museum, Institution of Alaska Native Arts and Fairbanks Native Association.  She has worked with programs that provide services to university students at the University of Alaska Museum, Advanced College Tuition, UA Scholars Program and UAF Office of Multicultural Affairs.  Ms. McBride provided oversight and management at the Institute of Alaska Native Arts (Executive Director), UAF Office of Multicultural Affairs (Coordinator) and Fairbanks Native Association (Planning and Development). She has provided grant expertise in various capacities (peer reviewer, developing guidelines, or recipient selection) at the municipal, state and federal level.  

She was an active member of the Fairbanks Homeless Coalition, Alaska Behavior Health Working Group and the Fairbanks Arts Association for many years. She was on the Arts Association board for seven years
