Dear UAMN Supporters and Advocates:

We recently mailed a letter to more than 2,000 UA Museum of the North supporters announcing the second annual challenge grant from the Friends of the UA Museum of the North. This group of individuals who work to support the museum’s mission is offering $20,000 in matching funds to help us raise income during this difficult economic climate.

Now is a great time to support UAMN and double the impact of your gift! Led by long-time Fairbanksan Ron Inouye, the Friends of the UA Museum of the North challenge is valid through December 31, 2017. All gifts to the museum’s Annual Fund will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $20,000. We are thrilled about this generous challenge and ask that you take advantage of this opportunity to leverage your support. Resources raised during this challenge will support the museum’s Annual Fund, the source of critical funding for our most immediate needs. Thank you for your past support and for considering our request to make a gift before December 31, 2017. Please make a gift today by donating online at:

PS: Are you of the age where you must take an annual mandatory distribution from an IRA account? If so, please consider supporting the UA Museum of the North’s Annual Fund by making a tax deductible donation directly from your retirement – it’s surprisingly easy to do! For more information, please contact Harry Need, UA Foundation Senior Director of Philanthropic Services at or (907) 786-4840.

Stay tuned for our next annual Open House on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2018. We will again be offering FREE cupcakes, tours of the labs, hands-on activities, and other fun ways to connect with the museum's collections. If you have any questions, please contact Aelin Allegood, UAMN Development Coordinator, at or (907) 474-1510.
