The University of Alaska Museum of the North will celebrate Alaska Archaeology Month with a free public lecture Thursday, April 15 at 7 p.m. at the museum.

Archaeologist Joshua Reuther [ROO-thur] and his colleagues will present "Life on the River: Community Archaeology on the Kuskokwim." They will speak about how Crooked Creek residents helped excavate one of the region’s oldest archaeological sites and how it may relate to a local legend about the village’s founding.
