UAF’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is seeking volunteer instructors who can share their knowledge this spring semester.

OLLI is a noncredit educational program for adults age 50 and up. It offers short courses in numerous subjects during fall and spring terms. Past topics have included marine science research, historical linguistics, Homer’s "The Odyssey," cryptocurrencies and suffrage songs. The institute also offers hands-on classes, such as drawing, guitar, knot tying and juggling.

Volunteer instructors include UAF professors, graduate students and knowledgeable community members. Classes can be taught by one instructor or teams.

A typical class meets for an hour and 15 minutes once a week for four weeks. Most classes meet during the day, but a few are held in the early evening.

The deadline for spring course proposals is Nov. 11.

The spring 2020 sessions are Feb. 10-March 6 and March 16-April 10.
