Forest ecosystems, which cover 10 percent of the Earth's surface, are the foundation of a healthy planet. Not only do they clean the air we breathe, they provide jobs and a place for reflection and wonder.
They also are indicators of climate change. If you are drawn to the forests, we will help you learn how to sustainably manage forest ecosystems and apply knowledge of forest sciences to help solve some of the world's most pressing environmental and energy issues.
We believe that forests should be explored, not just read about, so our students get out into the field for research and internships. In fact, a complex and beautiful research forest is right outside our main building. You can take your lunch breaks there!
