Student Organization Description:
The International Students Organization (ISO) is a voice for all current, former and prospective students of the University of Alaska Fairbanks with ties abroad. We are the primary student contact if you need help getting acclimatized in Fairbanks or organizing all documentation (we've all been through that successfully!), if you want to get to know other students from around the world and to represent your interests on a university-wide level. We are an organization through the Graduate School, but serve undergraduate and graduate students. Organization members strive to represent international students to the administration, the community, and to each other. Our goal is to improve university life, advocate for overseas students’ needs, and to protect their rights. We encourage you, whether you’re an American or an overseas student, to help us form a more active and vibrant community. Specially, we envision that the ISO will: * Be an overseas student-centered organization that values participatory decision-making. * Serve as a unifying force that honors each individual and values diversity. * Provide a welcoming environment that is the center of campus life, due to its location, programming, and general accessibility to all international students. Currently, we are setting out to conduct the following aims: * Collect some suggestions to administrations to provide better services and convenience for oversea students. * Organize cultural activities. * Our members will set up relationship with future students from their own countries to assistant them to involve UAF campus life smoothly.
