Explore Classes for the Childcare Degree
UAF’s nanny caregiving program includes courses focused on foundations in child development from prenatal through adolescence. In addition, we offer coursework in curriculum development for various ages, safe healthy learning environments, culture and the young child, and positive social and emotional development. Unique caregiving course offerings include:
- ECE 130 Culture, Learning and the Young Child emphasizes cultural belonging to help you ensure that every child feels comfortable and safe within their learning environment.
- ECE 104X Child Development 1 is unique in its depth and practicality, sharing critical information about brain development and language acquisition.
- ECE 107X Child Development 2 extends past the traditional age of 8 covered by many caregiving courses and is particularly helpful for school-age childcare providers, parents, coaches and recreational leaders.
