Welcome to #NanookNation. Whatever you're looking for, you can find it here.
Get outside the classroom, where fieldwork really is in the field — unless it's in the forest, ocean or mountains. Then burrow into your books at Alaska’s biggest library, play an evening virtual trivia game or join a student club or three. Around here, if you're game, you're in.

Applying for admission
You can find most anything you need to know about applying to UAF on our admissions website, and our student ambassadors and admissions counselors are here to help you each step of the way.

We're a top university
We've got our own rocket range, an icebreaking science ship and professors who've published more Arctic research than any other university worldwide. But we offer far more than science — we're enriched by a full suite of art, theater, film and language programs. It's no wonder U.S. News & World Report calls UAF a top-tier national university — the only one in Alaska.

Affordable excellence
You can get the best of college without paying a fortune. You'll find world-class academic programs and affordable tuition at UAF. We make high-quality education accessible.

Finding the money
Even with our low tuition, everyone can use help paying for college, so there are grants, student jobs, work-study and loans. UAF also has hundreds of privately funded scholarships, and our Nanook Pledge and Commitment scholarships can offer four-year certainty.

Check out our campuses
There's no better way to find out if UAF is right for you than to visit. We've paused in-person tours, but you can see the Fairbanks campus virtually via one of our online field trips. Or attend a regular online information session. And you can always call and talk with a student, professor or staff member.
