Daniel DeRoux, Large Painted Murals

Daniel DeRoux was born in Juneau Alaska in 1951. He has exhibited his works and received awards internationally. This large mural pieces show the history of science and engineering. This is one of three murals painted by DeRoux in this building. Other two murals are located upstairs.

This is a series various scientific images taken with the scanning electron microscope from local research conducted at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Beautiful and functional curved and straight benches are located in various placed in the building. The benches are made of Alaskan birch.
There are many other art pieces and scientific displays, such as tapestries, photographs and repriduced prints on this floor.
