Student positions

ASUAF has three student positions that remain open until filled. Generally, one student is hired for each position at the beginning of the school year and the position lasts until the end of the school year. Students who held a position have the potential to return to it after summer break for another term.

 

Senate Clerk

The Senate Clerk works in the ASUAF office as an office assistant, helps students that come in and makes sure everything runs smoothly. Core responsibilities include recording and taking minutes of senate meetings, creating agendas for senate meetings, and to work the front desk of the ASUAF office. The Senate Clerk is hired by and works under the Senate Chair.

 

Student Advocacy Director

The Student Advocacy Director (SAD) acts as an advocate between students and professors or the University. Core responsibilities include being the ASUAF student representative on a variety of committees including the Faculty Senate Student Academic Development and Achievement Committee, the Nanook Diversity and Action Council, the ASUAF Senate Student and Academic Affairs Committee, and all Academic and Grade Appeals Committees. The SAD is hired by and works under the ASUAF President and Vice President and holds a position on the ASUAF Executive Council.

 

Public Relations Director

The Public Relations Director (PRD) creates and maintains the public face of ASUAF through social media, the ASUAF website, and acts as a public liaison. Main duties include being Chair of the Student Commencement Speaker Committee, to publicize ASUAF events, and to build awareness of ASUAF. The PRD is hired by and works under the ASUAF President and Vice President and holds a position on the ASUAF Executive Council.
