Library Services for rural residents
The Kuskokwim Consortium Library serves the community of Bethel and the students, staff, and faculty of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Kuskokwim Campus. We also provide a conduit to library services to the many communities in the YK Delta that don't have a library. Please contact us if you need assistance accessing library services. Some of the following are resources available to all people living in the YK Delta.
The Alaska Library Extension enables Alaska residents living in communities not served by a public library to obtain a Juneau Public Library Card. This service is free, and if you become part of our program they will mail books, movies, magazines, audiobooks, and music to you anywhere in Alaska. You’ll also have access to their online services, including downloadable audiobooks and e-books. When you sign up for the program you can choose to receive packages of library material curated by librarians based on your tastes and interests. If you’d prefer, you can choose to only receive material if and when you request it.
The Statewide Library Electronic Doorway is an easy-to-use website that connects people to high quality Alaska information.
