Nordic House

When Nordic House on Columbia Circle opened in 1989, it was the first such facility in the United States. The residence, a partnership between the Scandinavian Writers’ Association and UAF, enabled visiting artists and writers to conduct workshops, seminars and lectures at the university and provided housing for them during their stay.

Today, Nordic House is home to UAF’s  Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity and also hosts the Office of Sustainability’s UAF Green Bikes program.
