Current Newsletter - Fall 2022
Every year, CBSM releases two newsletters to highlight important CBSM events and achievements, and to acknowledge our hardworking faculty and students.

The National Millenial and Gen Z Community is a group of like-minded individuals who aim to break down stereotypes that revolve around Millenials and Gen Z young adults. Their goal is to elevate the conversation of younger generations with successful businesses across the country and the world exploring new ideas and finding solutions. As a proud member of NMGZ, the UAF Associated Students of Business student organization strives to bring those conversations and more to our local community.

An acronym that I commonly hear as a student marketing assistant at the UAF College of Business and Security Management (CBSM) is BLOY. During the fall 2022 semester, I have had a crash course in not only what the BLOY acronym stands for but also what an event of this caliber entails.
When Mark Herrmann announced his decision to step down, and in the process of seeking a dean for CBSM, the search committee was determined to find someone who would be a hands-on, inspirational, and collaborative leader for the college’s academic, teaching, and research enterprise, interested in the development of our students and with an unwavering and proven commitment to the values of CBSM.
A big part of a development officer's job is to connect donors who wish to support students. Sometimes you find donors, and other times donors find you. Such is the case for the Johnson Scholarship Foundation (JSF). Leaders on the JSF team reached out to the College of Business and Security Management (CBSM) to learn more about and explore our programs.
