New project: Carbon Ore, Rare Earth, and Critical Mineral Development in Alaska
September 10, 2021
A recently funded project exploring ores and rare earth elements in Alaska aims at reducing reliance on imported critical minerals. This could lead to establishing Alaska’s resources as globally competitive sources of supply. The project led by Brent Sheets (Institute of Northern Engineering, Petroleum Development Laboratory) is funded by the Department of Energy's NETL REE-CM program. This project works in collaboration with DGGS, Native Corporations, and the resource development industries.
