Geological engineering alumnus leads ADOT&PF

Ryan Anderson

Ryan Anderson (UAF 1997) is now serving as Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF).

Anderson began his career as an entry level engineer at ADOT&PF in 2000 and has been with the department since. He previously served as Northern Region Director. While overseeing the design and constructions of many road and airport projects, his focus has been on improving transportation in rural Alaska.

Anderson moved to Alaska in 1993 and earned a bachelor's degree from UAF in geological engineering in 1997. He received his Alaska Civil Engineering license in 2003. He currently lives in Fairbanks with his family.
