Career Pathways Internship: summer 2025 positions available

The Career Pathways Internship (CPI) Program, a collaboration between the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) and the UAF College of Engineering and Mines (CEM), is now accepting applications for summer 2025.

This program is designed to provide post-first-year students with hands-on experience in engineering and beyond, offering exposure to a variety of real-world projects and career paths within the DOT&PF.

Program Highlights

  • Work with planners, engineers, and communications specialists.
  • Participate in a rotational system across DOT&PF departments.
  • Visit civil infrastructure projects and learn how local knowledge informs solutions.
  • Build a professional cohort through career-building activities and events.
  • Develop practical skills, solve realistic problems, and connect with industry professionals.
  • Earn $19/hour+ and credits toward your degree (applies to certain majors).

Additional Details

Students are required to enroll in CE470 (1 credit) during the spring 2025 semester, with the course cost covered by the CPI program.
