Advancement and engagement
The Blue & Gold Gala celebrates the strong connection between UAF and the Fairbanks community. UAF would not be here if it weren’t for the support of our alumni and friends, and our shared history creates incredible connections that we are proud to celebrate.
Employee engagement is different from job satisfaction. The benefits of engagement are well-documented. Engaged employees have less absenteeism and fewer complaints, and they are more than twice as likely to stay with their current organization. Engaged employees are more innovative and committed. They also tend to be better stewards of organizational resources. Engaged employees are critical to the success of UAF.
The Chancellor's Cornerstone Award recognizes University of Alaska Fairbanks staff for sustained outstanding contributions toward accomplishing and enhancing the UAF mission and strategic plan.
Our staff members are indispensable to the university. Please help us celebrate the people who keep UAF running during Staff Recognition and Development Day.
The UAF Meritorious Service Award is a high and rare honor, given to individuals for outstanding service that is typically locale-oriented. Nominees should be individuals who have demonstrated evidence of significant services publicly, academically, voluntarily or philanthropically; have provided services to UAF or to one of the community campuses, or to an Alaska community; have longevity of commitment and/or service; and/or diversity – culturally and/or discipline.
Over the years, UAF employees and students have generously contributed time, talent and dollars to the United Way of the Tanana Valley to support organizations that provide important services in the Fairbanks area. One-third of Fairbanks community residents will need help from a United Way member agency in their lifetime. By supporting the United Way of the Tanana Valley, we can make sure help is there when it is needed.
