Medical care at UAF is provided by highly qualified staff:

The Center provides general health care and laboratory services as described below.

Primary Health Care

  • Treatment for acute illness and injury
  • Follow up and continuing care for illnesses
  • Mental health evaluation and treatment and/or referral (see also Counseling)
  • Referrals for specialized medical services
  • Pregnancy tests and referrals

Preventive Services

  • Routine physicals for men and women 
  • Contraceptive information and supplies
  • Cholesterol screening
  • Blood pressure screening
  • Immunizations and Tb testing (see immunizations)
  • Screening and counseling for sexually transmitted infections


  • Laboratory services
  • Formulary 
  • Outreach/educational programs


In order to live in UAF housing, you are required to submit records showing that you have had all of the following:

  • 2 MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) immunizations
  • Tetanus immunization within the last 10 years (this can be either Td (tetanus/diptheria), or Tdap (tetanus, diptheria and pertussis)
  • negative Tb (tuberculosis) test within the first year of living in housing (often called a ppd test).  If your Tb test was positive, a negative chest x-ray report is required.

If you do not have access to these records, you can obtain these immunizations and Tb testing here at our clinic or at a clinic or pharmacy in the community.  If you have these done in the community, please bring or send the documents to our health center at 1788 Yukon Drive.

The fees for obtaining these at our clinic are:
Tb test:  $10
Tetanus immunization (Tdap):  free
MMR (measles, mumps, rubella):  $95
