Who we are:
The Dean of Students Office supports student-centered programs and services designed to assist students in achieving their personal, academic and career goals.
What we do:
The office provides assistance to students, staff and faculty regarding conduct, grade appeals, administrative withdraws, safety/security concerns, as well as handling Student Employee Waivers, and more.
AlcoholEdu and Title IX: Sex and Gender Based Discrimination Prevention Training
AlcoholEdu and Title IX: Sex and Gender Based Discrimination Prevention is a required training for UAF students. Who is required to take these trainings? Below lists out the student groups that are required to take these trainings.
- Title IX: Sex and Gender Discrimination
- All certificate and degree seeking students. This includes associate, bachelors, masters, PhD's. This also includes online and on campus students.
- National and International exchange students.
- All students living on campus.
- All degree-seeking students in certificate, associate, bachelors, masters and PhD's ages 24 and under.
- Any student living on campus, age 25 and under.

UAF's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
Annual Security Report is now available. We encourage all staff, faculty, students and prospective students to review the report and be familiar with the information included in the report.
Please contact the Dean of Students Office if you have any questions about the report or the information included.
If you are concerned about someone, or someone is displaying concerning or disruptive behavior, you can report it here. The UAF Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) is dedicated to a proactive, supportive, and coordinated approach to the identification, prevention, assessment, management, and to the safety and well-being of the UAF community.
Once the report is received, a designated staff member will investigate the incident and address the issue reported. Please be aware that you and the identified other person(s) may be contacted to provide further information and/or assistance.
Student's Drug-free Schools and Communities Act Notification
The Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989 require that each college and university receiving federal financial assistance provide annually the following information in writing to all students and employees:
- Standards of conduct that clearly prohibit, at a minimum, the unlawful possession, use or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees on its property or as part of its activities.
- A description of the applicable legal sanctions under local, state or federal law for the unlawful possession or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol.
- A description of the health risks associated with the use of illicit drugs and the abuse of alcohol.
- A description of any drug or alcohol counseling, treatment or rehabilitation or reentry programs that are available to employees or students.
- A clear statement that the institution will impose disciplinary sanctions on students and employees (consistent with local, state and federal law), and a description of those sanctions, up to and including expulsion or termination of employment and referral for prosecution, for violations of the standards of conduct. A disciplinary sanction may include the completion of an appropriate rehabilitation program.
