The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in mathematics and statistics.
Research interests in mathematics include algebraic statistics, analysis, combinatorics, computational algebra, control theory, geometric analysis, graph theory, inverse problems, mathematical biology, mathematical physics, mathematics education, numerical analysis, partial differential equations, and optics.
Research interests in statistics include sampling design, biostatistics, spatial statistics, density estimation, quality control, and design of experiments.
- The Math and Stat Lab will be closed due to current space restrictions for the fall semester.
- Online Tutoring through Zoom, only for students enrolled in UAF core MATH and STAT
courses. To make an appointment go to Online Tutoring. Students will need to log in using their UA credentials. Appointments can be made
for 30, 45,or 60 minutes. Students can make appointments within the hour up to 14
days in advance.
