Workshop will help early career women be science leaders
Are you a UA grad student, post-doc or early career scientist? A woman in science looking to improve your leadership skills? A friend and ally of women in science who wants to help your colleagues achieve their best?
If so, consider signing up for an Alaska Climate Science Center workshop Aug. 24-25 in Fairbanks. AK CSC graduate student fellow Joanna Young organized the conference. She recently returned from Antarctica, where she participated in the inaugural expedition of Homeward Bound, a unique three-week leadership program for women in science.
This workshop will combine the expertise of women in leadership at UA with elements from Homeward Bound. It will help you build skills to lead expeditions, science outreach and education activities, or resource management and policy discussions. It will also help you build a network among UA early career female scientists and supporters.
Registration is free, and limited travel support is available. Please register by June 2. Successful applicants will be notified by June 9.
