Climate shift may have spurred migration across Bering Land Bridge

A new study led by UAF researchers determined that the climate on the Bering Land Bridge shifted to wetter, warmer conditions about 15,000 years ago and likely encouraged the first human migration from Asia to North America. Read more

Dave Verbyla has used remote sensing and geographic information systems to study shrinking boreal lakes, the breeding range of trumpeter swans, spruce beetle infestations, and the flammability of aspen and birch stands. Read more
