I was saddened to learn this morning that one of our students and former employees, Bryan Hoyt, passed away earlier this week in Texas. Bryan was a distance student in the School of Management and had attended classes on the Fairbanks campus earlier in his academic career. He had also worked as a member of the campus grounds crew.

My condolences go to Bryan’s family, as well as his friends, classmates, former colleagues and professors in UAF’s close-knit community. If you or someone you know is struggling with this loss, please don’t struggle alone. There is free help available for both students and employees.

For students, the Student Health and Counseling Center can provide support or counseling. Call 474-7043 to speak with someone, or, for more information, visit www.uaf.edu/chc/counseling-services-1/. Employees are eligible for free counseling through the Employee Assistance Program. Please call 1-888-993-7650, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
