In Fairbanks, Joe Nava is pretty much a household name, whether through his work as a gun safety instructor, as host of the local radio program “Shooters Corner,” or as the creator of the Youth Hunter Education Challenge. What might not be so well known is Nava’s longtime ties to the University of Alaska Fairbanks — as a student, athlete, researcher and, as of 2009, a member of the Nanook Hall of Fame. Read more
