Today (like every day) we owe gratitude to our veterans. Although Veterans Day is the one day each year that is dedicated across the country to honoring veterans, I hope that every day we can think about the sacrifice that veterans make to each of us through their service. I will start by thanking the Department of Military and Veteran Services (DMVS) director, Colonel Jackie Morton, for her service as a veteran. The DMVS on the Troth Yeddha' campus and Northern Military Services at CTC are great first stops if you would like to thank a veteran today (like every day)! Whether on the Troth Yeddha' campus, at CTC, in Dillingham, Nome, Kotzebue, Bethel, Fort Yukon, Tok, Juneau, Kodiak or anywhere else you work for UAF, please join me in thanking a vet today.

Although it is not called Veterans, Active Duty Service Members and Military Dependents Day, I think it is appropriate to be thankful for the whole team. UAF thrives through our great partnerships with Fort Wainwright, Eielson Air Force Base and the Army ROTC program led on campus by its new commander, Lieutenant Colonel Virginia Supanick. UAF will have a special Veterans Day commemoration at 4 pm this coming Thursday (11/14) at Arctic Java. I hope that we will see you there.

To our veterans, my thanks today and every day.
