Display problems? Open this email in your web browser. Feb. 16, 2021 Dear UAF faculty and staff, As of midnight on Sunday, Feb. 14, the State of Alaska COVID-19 emergency declaration expired. The state's health orders have been replaced by health advisories. The state has also issued a new Health Advisory No. 2 for international and interstate travel. With the State of Alaska’s emergency declaration expiring, the UA system office is actively working to update the UA COVID-19 guidance. At UAF we will continue to follow our practices, procedures and policies that are in place, including: General COVID-19 policy (updated Jan. 21) COVID-19 face coverings Contact tracing procedures Events policy (updated on Feb. 3) COVID-19 mitigation plans The State of Alaska continues to expand and open new phases and tiers for COVID-19 vaccinations. With the newest phase (1b, Tier 2) opening last Thursday, Feb. 11, many UAF employees may now be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Per the state's eligibility quiz, if you are a frontline essential worker, age 50 or older, and are required to work within 6 feet of others, you would qualify. To determine if you are eligible, please take the quiz. The Fairbanks area offers several locations to get a vaccination but appointments are limited due to supplies. You can find a vaccine provider on the state’s COVID-19 website. Please remember that UAF still requires all employees, students and campus visitors to follow our face covering policy and maintain 6 feet of social distancing. Please also continue to sanitize work surfaces and stay home if you are not feeling well. These safety measures will continue to keep our campuses safe.
