This semester, the new UAF Tamamta program began with a cohort of nine Indigenous
students.
A UAF-led expedition embarks this week for a 40-day scientific cruise to assess the
state of the eastern Arctic Ocean. The expedition, which is part of the Nansen and
Amundsen Basins Observational System, includes 27 participants from the United States,
Russia, Japan and Denmark.

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences will hold its next weekly seminar on Wednesday,
Sept. 15, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. via Zoom. The talk will be offered by Jerome Fiechter.
