— Nettie La Belle-Hamer. For my family, winter holidays have traditionally been a time of celebration and reflection. We enter them with the joy of the holiday season and, then, as we look to the beginning of a new year, we often reflect on dreams, goals, and resolutions.


New name for international programs office

International Programs and Initiatives has changed its name to International Student and Scholar Services, effective Monday, Jan. 10.

Midwinter rain on snow is a game changer

On Dec. 26, more than an inch of rain fell over a wide swath of the state. Much of the backcountry of Interior Alaska now has an ice sheet beneath a foot of fluffy snow.


Sport and recreation business speaker series begins Feb. 1

Recreation business professionals will share their experiences during a series of free public online discussions sponsored by the sport and recreation business program at the UAF College of Business and Security Management.
