Naomi Hutchquist uses her professional skills along with a dose of her fun side to
volunteer for KUAC. She is the recipient of the 2022 Spirit of KUAC award, given to
the volunteer of the year.
Artificial intelligence/machine learning is playing an ever-expanding role in everyday
life, but also in medical research and healthcare. AI/ML models can now detect skin
cancer from a cell phone picture of a person's skin.
Chartwells will be hosting a Surf and Turf End of Semester Celebration in the Wood
Center Ballroom on April 18.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research is soliciting white papers for the
U.S Department of Energy's Urban Integrated Field Laboratories program.
UAF has been awarded Ursa Minor status in Water System Excellence. The recognition
from the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation is for achieving and maintaining
compliance with the operator certification program and drinking water program in 2020.
