The University of Alaska Fairbanks has selected Dermot Cole, Sarah James and Michael
Williams Sr. to receive honorary doctorates in 2022.
The 2022 Honors College graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 28,
from 6-8 p.m. in the Margaret Murie Building Auditorium. After canceling the ceremony
in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an in-person event is planned for 2022.
Author and public speaker Jenna Quinn will share her triumphant survivor story with
a webinar, "From Darkness to Light: Hope, Healing, and the Power of Prevention,” at
8:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 19.
Kristi Swain, a Ph.D. student from the UAF Arctic and Northern Studies Program, will
present “The Alaskan Security Conundrum: Lessons from Alaskan History.” The online
presentation will be from 2-3:30 p.m. on April 21.
