The 2022 Angayuqaq Oscar Kawagley Scholar Award has been awarded to Vivian Mork Yéilk’.
The award is presented annually to recognize and encourage Indigenous scholars who
have made exemplary contributions to our understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems
and Native ways of knowing in Alaska.
The new UAF events calendar will allow members of the UAF community and the public
to find university events in one place.

nonprofits." They will discuss jobs at nonprofit organizations and strategies for
finding and applying for them.

Deadlines and reminders
The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences will hold its final weekly seminar of
the semester on Wednesday, April 20, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. via Zoom. The talk will be
offered by Alexandria Sletten and Drew Porter, who are both graduate students at CFOS.
Over the past decade, there has been an increasing push toward making science more
relevant to affected communities. Join the International Arctic Research Center for
April's IARC Salon, "Engaging Community in Local Science," at noon on Thursday, April
21.
The Alaska Fellows Program is accepting applications for the 2022-23 program year.
Application review is ongoing until filled, but applications are encouraged before
May 1.
