The University of Alaska Fairbanks will celebrate the achievements of the Rural Alaska
Honors Institute class of 2022 on July 14 with a hybrid in-person and virtual graduation
ceremony.
Toolik Field Station is convening a session at the American Geophysical Union (AGU)
annual fall meeting titled "Creating and Sustaining Safety and Community at Field
Stations, Field Camps, Marine Laboratories, and Research Vessels." Toolik invites researchers at UAF and beyond to submit an abstract on efforts to remove
barriers to safe and inclusive fieldwork and increase positive, transformative field
experiences. Submissions are due by Aug 3, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. EDT on the AGU fall meeting website.

*** UAF’s Fairbanks campuses are currently at “orange” level for COVID-19 precautions,
which requires masking indoors, as well as outdoors when its not possible to stay
6 feet away from other people. Masks will be required and made available at events this week. ***
UAF is launching a new online tool aimed at highlighting student achievements, such
as earning a degree or being named to the deans' or chancellor's list. Later this month, students will receive an email from Merit to their university email
address, inviting them to claim their Merit page or opt out of Merit.
