In a rare week of blue-bird days in Utqiagvik, I had the honor and pleasure to participate
in the 75th anniversary celebration for the Naval Arctic Research Laboratory (NARL).
Hosted by Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) this celebration brought together North
Slope Borough community members, for profit and not-for-profit corporations, and both
past and present Arctic researchers, including many of us from University of Alaska
Fairbanks.
NAMI Fairbanks and the University of Alaska Fairbanks Police Department have partnered
to host crisis intervention training on the UAF Troth Yeddha Campus this week.
The LP/record genres available for purchase include Dixieland, jazz, blues, Christmas,
music theater, big band and classical. CD music is mostly classical, but other genres
are also available. Those interested can call 907-474-5291 or email the UAF Music Department to schedule an appointment.
Regular benefit eligible employees actively employed on or before the first day of
the term qualify for a tuition waiver, as well as spouses, Financially Interdependent
Partners (FIP)s, and dependent children (under the age of 24 as of the first day of
the term) of eligible employees. Part time adjunct faculty with banked credits may also redeem credits toward their
tuition balance. Tuition waivers only cover tuition. You are responsible for paying
