Friday Focus: Rev-it-up

Wednesday was my favorite day of the year. Rev-it-up is the whole cacophony of events that make move-in day for first-year students (and their families) one of celebration and engagement. Since the first time I participated in Rev-it-up I was sold. It is my fave.


UA Museum of the North offers sessions during Arctic Fest 2022

Discover various UA Museum of the North collections in partnership with Arctic Fest 2022. Visitors can tour arctic collections as part of their museum admission and learn about featured collections directly from researchers. Arctic collections include: Mammals on Aug. 29 from noon to 2 p.m.; Berries on Aug. 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Birds on Aug. 31 from noon to 2 p.m.; Ethnology and History on Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to noon; and Genomic Resources on Sept. 2 from noon to 2 p.m.

Cam Carlson named UAF College of Business and Security Management dean

Cameron (Cam) Carlson has been selected as the dean of the University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Business and Security Management. He starts his new role on Aug. 28, 2022. Carlson takes over from Mark Herrmann, who served as dean of CBSM for more than 15 years. Hermann will continue at CBSM as the associate dean for accreditation and development.
