Where do Alaska bats spend the winter?

Jesika Reimer, a bat expert and consultant, has held in her hands little brown bats from the Northwest Territories to the Tanana River. Along with a few colleagues around Alaska, she is sharing new information about the farthest-north bat.

Federal loan relief program

Federal Student Aid and the Biden-Harris Administration have announced a three-part plan to help federal student loan borrowers get back on track with payments after the pandemic-related support expires. To review your student loan history or to see if you received a Pell grant, you can visit studentaid.gov. Please visit the debt relief announcement page for the most current information.

Join the Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy for Rick Thoman’s 100th NWS Climate Outlook Briefing. Register for the webinar online or join in person. A small celebration will be held after the webinar. For eight years, Thoman has been giving the National Weather Service Climate Outlook Briefings and it is notable that he has never missed a month. The webinar series was started as a collaboration between the NWS and ACCAP, with the goal of providing relevant and specific climate data to Alaskans in an understandable format.


UA Safe Title IX training due by Oct. 31

The university provides tools to assist you in knowing what to do when you become aware of difficult situations, including sexual harassment or assault, through Title IX training and online resources. UA Safe Title IX Training is mandatory, and must be completed by Oct. 31, 2022.
