Friday Focus: Students!

It is awesome to have our Troth Yeddha' campus vibrant with students once again. It is energizing to walk around and see students dining in the Wood Center, walking across Constitution Park between classes, and taking the hike up to or down from MBS. I hear faculty and staff still remarking on this daily and we are three weeks into the semester. The positive energy doesn't seem to be wearing off; it continues to be contagious and rejuvenating!

Political Science Talk: Pathway to peace and prosperity or powder keg?

Join Matthew Mitchell for a talk on development strategy and conflict in Northern Quebec. In 2011, the Government of Québec, Canada announced an ambitious 25-year plan to develop the province’s northern region – an area nearly twice the size of France. A centerpiece of the Plan Nord is to integrate the province’s various Indigenous peoples in the sustainable development of the region. However, there are early warning signs of the potential for future conflict as some Indigenous groups mobilized opposition against proposed developments.
