Samara Taber, executive director of university advancement

Friday Focus: Advancement resources

Recently, the chancellor's core cabinet had lunch with Associated Students of the University of Alaska Fairbanks - UAF's student government. As we went around the room making introductions, we were prompted to share what we are passionate about. As were many of the senators and executive leaders in the room, I am passionate about solving problems. If I can solve a problem by connecting someone to the right person or resource? Even better. I love making those connections. I’ve realized lately that some folks aren’t sure of the breadth of services UAF Advancement provides. For that reason, I have compiled a reference guide to University Advancement resources.

Ancient moose antlers hint of early arrival

When a great deal of Earth's water was locked up within mountains of ice, our ancestors scampered across a dry corridor from what is today Siberia over to Alaska. Those adventurous souls may have been accompanied by another creature that needed wood the moose.
